1967 to 1969 saw a handful of oval casserole-based promos dubbed, officially or not, "Golden Something-Or-Other". Since "Oval Casserole With Candle Warmer" is pretty boring, this one from 1968 became known as Golden Rosette. Another promo dish and accessory reunion; the cradle from eBay and the dish from @atkinsonsantiques
“Black Tulip” 1957
1957 Black Tulip 043 oval casserole promo with original cradle.
Woodland 470 Cinderella Round Casserole Set
A Woodland (1978-1983) 470 Cinderella round casserole set I recently completed. Interesting in that we often don't notice the subtle differences in the decorative pattern from one dish in a set to the next.
Cosmopolitan Casserole with Electric Warmer
While often seen referred to as a Pyrex seasonal promo from 1973, the Salton Cosmopolitan H109-C Hot Casserole Set was one of several items in that company's "Cosmopolitan" range of electric warmer food and beverage serving units, the casserole being merely an outsourced component. Suggested retail then was $19.95, which is about what I paid total for the dish and warmer from a thrift and eBay. Cha-ching!
Regency 1965
1965 Regency 043 promo. Earthtones like Town & Country, Terra, and Early American were among then-current standard patterns. Decoration elements foreshadow 1969's Horizon Blue.
Town & Country Alternate Refrigerator Set
A day of Pyrex kismet. On a whim, stopped by a vendor I hadn't visited in a while. She said she had just gotten some things I might be interested in. All on my current want list: The 503 to complete this T&C Alternate set, a Verde 945 lid, a Daisy 475, and a HB 473 (so now I have complete 470 and 480 sets).
Horizon Blue Cinderella Round Casseroles
A much better Horizon Blue day today. A 474 and 475 to complete this Cinderella set. And a bonus 963 from another place just across the street.
Horizon Blues
A moment of silence, please. For the mint condition HB 402 I just received.😟
Pink Daisy
Regular Friday stop at the thrift store. DWD Lime 024 and lidless Forest Fancies 475, still there from last week. Still, I made the rounds, because you never know when you'll spot that stray HTF underplate or an orphaned cradle on some bottom shelf. And there it was, $6.50. In great shape considering it could be 60 years old.
Crazy Quilt 1971
1971 Crazy Quilt promo with trivet. This is the first promo and one of the first few pieces of Pyrex I ever bought. I was shocked to see what they went for on eBay after having given just $10 for it (bargained down from $17). Finally found the trivet bundled inconspicuously with a BP 473, also at a bargain price. I let the other two 1968-1971 473 promos I own which also came with one have a turn on it. Still lack the 1969 Celtic Floral*.
