Re: Pyrex Tea Pot Identification

The 8126 "American Hostess" teapot appears to have been new for 1942. In 1950 or 1951, it got a new handle and a knob top lid and apparently became the 8336.

Re: Pyrex Percolator Identification

The #76 Flameware percolator, available since the mid-1930s, appears to have become the #7826 around 1941. 7826-B is the part/model number for just the bowl. The handle changed from straight glass to contoured glass in 1948 and to phenolic around 1950.

Re: My second Friendship find!

Very nice. I found the same with the opal version lid in a lot of 7 or 8 pieces I snagged for $50. The commenter is incorrect, though, opal Pyrex was never borosilicate.

Re: Copyrights of Vintage Ads

None are probably old enough to be considered public domain. If their inclusion is considered "fair use", you would at least need to ascribe proper credit, either individually or a blanket statement, or if unsure, to seek professional legal advice.

Re: Update on my collection

$80 for a Multicolor 400 set in VG condition seems about right. They would need to be perfect to be any higher, but I think I would be reluctant to pay too much more in any case. Maybe for a perfect set of unnumbered.

Re: My first Pyrex purchase

Friendship is a popular pattern to collect. It wasn't produced all that long, so finding the pieces you want in good condition can often be difficult and more costly than other longer-lived patterns. But it's worth it.

Re: Value of Sauce Server w/Warmer Trivet #87

The 87 Sauce Server was announced in the 1962 catalog with a footnote that it was a permanent part of the Pyrex line. By the 1967 catalog, it was no longer offered. $5 is great for anything NIB. eBay thinks it's worth about $15-20 plus shipping.
