Re: Pyrex Carafe Indentification

Pyrex brand, "Made for Silex", so technically not a Pyrex item. This ad from 1960 appears to be your carafe:

Re: Pyrex Carafe Indentification

I haven't come across it in any catalogs yet, but the closed loop handle to me says older, 50s or early 60s. Is it stamped Pyrex on it?

Re: Pink or Desert Rose 525B and Pink or Desert Rose 525C

The color is usually referred to as "rose". It's an unusual color, and is neither pink nor flamingo. The backstamp with the circle of Ts is usually referred to as a "sunshine" stamp. The period in which it was used would be late 40 to early 50s. It's rare, and if in EX condition ...

Re: Musical Staff

But remember, on eBay, all defects are "ultra rare" and therefore very valuable.

Re: horizon blue set

So, now we know the set is Canadian. Here is a 1956 Canadian Pyrex Ad showing it:

You can see the boxes on the bottom shelf.

Re: horizon blue set

It's an interesting set. I had always understood the gray 080 to be Canadian. If the backstamps are USA, that still would not preclude Canadian production/distribution. The slogan in French makes me wonder if that has something to do with Canada, or if it was just something popular marketing-wise at...

Re: horizon blue set

If we are to believe the defunct CC website, the blue 024 is the same shade as HB. It looks like it to me. The 080 in your photo atop the 024 looks more like turquoise, at least it does there. I guess we would need to determine what the lifespan was on color opalware 080s, and if it ended before 196...

Re: New in box 400-18 Pink Bowl Set

eBay would say around $200-250, I would think, if actually NIB and no evidence of usage.

Re: Copper top chafing dish serving set

Yeah, I think I've seen it or similar on eBay before. It has to be something third party just using Pyrex dishes. In the early days, pre-opalware, there were even catalogs from Corning of "Pyrex Items Most Frequently Metal Framed" (by third parties) with their dimensions listed and diagram...

Re: Pyrex Crystal Pitcher

I would look in some of the late 60s - 70s catalogs on the site. My Mom had one around then. The wooden handled cradle is not Pyrex.
