Re: 2 Small Dishes

It looks like they came out in 1950. They are so cute.

Corning Glass Works china

I stumbled across this while trying to identify some vintage china I found. I wondered at first why Corning would commission dishes from Shenango china in 1951 until I read here that the Pyrex line of dinnerware wasn't introduced until 1953. Kind of makes me wonder if the bill from Shenango didn't i...

Re: Cradle I.D.

I found a Fire King meat platter with a cradle but the handles are different.

Here is a picture of my meat platter. It may very well work for this one.

Re: 100th Anniversary Exhibit Cases

Michael, did you see that aluminum roaster? I bet you could make that thing shine like new.

Re: 100th Anniversary Exhibit Cases

Doug, I wanted to share this link with Michael because I love the way you can just hover over each piece to get the description. It seems only the first display shelf is visible now. When I try to arrow over to the next display I get a blank page. Do you know what happened to the rest of the Pyrex? ...

Re: Cradle I.D.

It may be the Pyrex meat platter also. If I can find mine I will measure the base to see if it would fit. I see the Georges Briard platter that Doug posted here is 18 x 10 so I guess it is too big. https://www.instagram.com/p/BJyv-_xgu9f/?taken-by=thepyrexcollector Or maybe not, depending on the dim...

Re: Cradle I.D.

Michael, based on the dimensions I am guessing it might be a cradle for a serving platter kind of like this one. I'm just guessing though, if it's for a Pyrex dish I am sure Doug will have more info about that. I thought first of the Georges Briard platters when I saw it. https://img0.etsystatic.com...

Re: 2nd opinion please

I found one of the old glass blower deep dish pie plates today for $1. I'm glad I passed on the $25 one. I also found a lime green platter which is the first platter I have found in the wild.

Re: First piece with cradle

Welcome to the forum Michael, that cradle is a treasure. The fact that it still has the flame guard makes me like it even more. Doug has more luck finding cradles than I do, except for UFO cradles.

Re: Score

I found these mugs in an antique store in Old Town Cottonwood for $2.50 a piece. I already had the bowls. Fire King Game Birds.
