Corning Glass Works china

I stumbled across this while trying to identify some vintage china I found. I wondered at first why Corning would commission dishes from Shenango china in 1951 until I read here that the Pyrex line of dinnerware wasn't introduced until 1953. Kind of makes me wonder if the bill from Shenango didn't inspire the dinnerware set.
