Not Pyrex

Post by Bonnie Scott »

It was half price day again at the thrift store I scored this for $2. It's not Pyrex but it is pretty. Plus it had the original holder. Fire king wheat, I have matching dishes. :-)

Back in January I took a trip to Quartzsite in search of Pyrex. I arrived to early for the mega swap meet so it was a bust. I took the back roads home and stopped at thrift stores in tiny towns on the way. I found this at one of them for 15$. I have the cream and sugar around somewhere also. I have to give them all a bath today because the box got left out in the rain. :-( They are federal glass but I am not sure of a pattern name.

Yesterday I found a Hazel Atlas measuring cup for $1. I think it might have originally been the base for a food chopper. The condition is nice and it's the perfect size for a coffee cup. I've been trying to find information about it so I went to this place.

I soon got distracted trying to find pattern names for the Hazel atlas bowls. After seeing the Atomic starburst I went hunting on ebay and saw these glasses. They are so cool!

It's not Pyrex but it's just as pretty. I wish I could afford it.

I know a lot of people who like Pyrex also like Jadite by Fireking. This article is helpful if you are hunting Jadite.

I got Jessie a set of these last year. I think they are cool for French Dip sandwiches or anything else you serve with a dip, and the pattern makes me chuckle.

It's pretty. Is that the English pyrex? The turned down handles make me think so.
