Pyrex 019

Post by Bonnie Scott »

Yesterday I was saying in the "Don't show just tell" thread that I was sad when I lost my Pyrex bowl and today I found another one just like it. It is an 019 but I don't see that number in the list here? I like the tiny handles.

The listing is primarily for opal ware Pyrex. It includes pie dishes and some others, but most post-1950 clear pieces aren't of too much collector interest, unless they have some unique characteristic.

I think they are cool, I found a real nice picture of the set with the lids over at Corelle corner. I never had the lid. It looks like they were discontinued in the 80s.

I actually have two of them I still use regularly. Good size for microwave steaming a couple portions of broccoli.

Yesterday I found the 1930s equivalent to this dish with the knob lid. It is an 021 with the 504 lid. The lid also fits a bean pot that I found a long time ago. I was surprised by the condition, it almost looks as if it was never used.

I cleaned up the 021 with lid today. It looks pretty nice.
