Todays hunt

Post by Bonnie Scott »

I made the thrift store rounds today and came home with this. It was half price day at Noah's so I got the two minty homesteads for $2 each. I think I spent 16$ for everything. The octagonal bowls are french Arcopal milk glass, they were 29c each. :D

I picked up this little stack today for $4. The lid on the Verde is kind of cool because one handle looked like it might have been chipped and then someone ground and polished it. Maybe it was cast that way? If they fixed it they did some fine work. I held the brownie pan up to the light and I think it's the opal.

I have 2 of those small round covered dishes. Good for many microwave uses.

I did OK hunting today. I found a Butterfly Gold 475 with lid that I passed on last week for $10 but it was $5 today and in minty condition so I got it. I also found a new to me old one, it is a 453 custard bowl? It's bigger and thicker than usual. Last but not least an Opal 210 pie plate with the gold band for $1.

I went back to the same store I found the Butterfly dish at the other day and today I found an 045 and a 474. The 045 was 2$ and the 475 was 4$. I'm not sure why they were priced like that it seems backwards? The condition is wonderful on both dishes.

Cheap either way if not scratched or chipped lids.

I also found a tiny Green leaf Pyrex tableware bowl and a Fire King Meadow Green casserole with lid. I am glad I have the Fire King book because otherwise it's very difficult to find the correct pattern name online.

Today I found a Canadian Pyrex blue plate and this Turquoise 403. I think this one will clean up nicely.

I decided the best way to season my new hotel skillet was to fire up the wood stove on my patio and grill some Reuben sandwiches in it, so I headed up to the store for pastrami. I stopped at Noah thrift on the way and found these four bowls for $10. 8-)

Does that trump Hot Air Balloons for $10?
