Another oldie

I found another old dollar sign pyrex yesterday for 1$. It was so dirty they put an as is sticker on it. It was dirty and yellow all over but it didn't have any chips so I got it. I put it in the lye tank. I wouldn't do it with a patterned piece but I don't think it will hurt this one?

It could possibly etch it. It's known to do so on vitreous enameled cast iron finishes.

That kind of scared me so I pulled it out. It's nice and clean. I don't think the lye etched it because the outside is nice and smooth. The inside looks etched but it looks more like knife marks from hundreds of meat loafs and banana breads being sliced. It's raining and my neighbors are dancing in the street. It has been so hot here.
